Education has always been given prime importance in the society and ever since the dawn of independence, leaders in our country have been laying stress on the importance of imparting quality education, as good education alone will help people to rise up in various walks of life. Education involves investment of huge amount. In addition to allocation of funds for education, the Government has to pay attention to poverty alleviation measures. The Government alone may not be able to develop education exclusively in the public sector. Hence the development of educational facilities has been permitted to be undertaken by Public Charitable Trusts and private organizations.

Against the above background, Meenakshi Group of Institutions was formed in the year 1983 as a Public Charitable and Educational Trust with its Registered office in Chennai 600 078. The Founder Trustee of the trust is Tmt D Meenakshi Ammal. Managing Trustee Thiru A N Radha Krishnan and Trustee Tmt R Gomathi Radhakrishnan are other members.

The Trust was started with the sole objective of establishing educational institutions. In fact, the only aim is to spread knowledge and promote education in all fields, viz Education, Engineering and Technology, Architecture, Arts and Science, Medical, Dental and Para Medical etc. Since the establishment of the Trust, the members of the Trust have been functioning with missionary zeal and dedication striving to spread education to all sections of people, without any discrimination of religion, caste, community, region etc. especially to Telugu minority students .

The Trust has established several educational institutions, namely Engineering Colleges, Polytechnic Colleges, Industrial Training Institute, Arts and Science Colleges, Higher Secondary School, Matriculation School, CBSE Schools, Educational colleges and Teacher Training Institute. The trust has nearly 14 institutions under its umbrella which offer education starting from LKG to specialized Colleges like Arts & Science, Engineering and Technology, Medical, Architecture, and Education. With humble beginning the Trust has developed outstanding institution with first class infrastructure laboratory equipments and won the appreciation of medical experts and administration of state and central Governments. Based on the quality of education provided and facilities available the Dental, Nursing, Medical Colleges have been conferred the Deemed to be university status by the University Grand Commission from the year 2004. The patients visiting the medical college hospital enjoy the proper treatment with the help of the latest and best medical equipments.

In the field of engineering education there is a need for good industry institute interaction so the students are not just equipped with bookish knowledge but also with some practical knowledge and are ready to take up challenging jobs. The institutions are committed to prepare engineering students employable in companies and exposing them to newer technologies and methodologies. They have a good industry institute interaction and are constantly striving to give their students the latest exposure preparing them for industry ready.

The trust is indeed doing remarkable service in the field of education. Today education doesn’t stop with mere class room studies.
